ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

With a view to offer a broader vista of knowledge for students who are aspiring for a Post Graduate degree, the Department of MA(HRM) was started in the year 2013. A Unique feature of the department has been a wide exposure in the fields of Manufacturing, IT, and Service Sector through Orientation visits and Internships. The other special features include Guest Lecturers, Workshops and HR Conferences.

To empower women community towards excellence in people management and transform the human resource into valuable asset.

MISSION

• To develop an in-depth understanding of the core disciplines in the area of human resources (HR).
• To foster a culture of innovation, develop the confidence, skills and appropriate work experience required to make appropriate career decisions throughout their lives, complementing the learning and development provided by academics.
• To excel in all areas of teaching-learning, research, outreach and consultancy and inspiring them to make and realize successful career decisions.

2022-2023

2019-20

• The Department of BBA and M.A. HRM of Shri Krishnaswamy College for women conducted a guest lecture on the topic “Enhancing the Employability Skill of College Students” on 04/07/2019 in Krissh Auditorium. The guest speaker was Mr. S. Parthasarathy.
• As a part of MMA, Student Chapter activity a Guest Lecture was conducted on the topic “Importance of Management Information System in Business Decisions” delivered by Ms. Jayanthi Kannan at Krissh Auditorium on 03..08.2019.
• The Department of BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION and MA(HRM) of Shri Krishnaswamy College for Women went on an industrial visit to THE NEW INDIAN EXPRESS on 7-08-2019
• The Department of BBA and M.A.HRM of Shri Krishnaswamy College for Women, has conducted a Guest lecture on the topic “Women in HR Roles” on 29.7.2019. The Guest speaker Ms. Madhulika Krishnamurthy, HR business partner from Saint Gobain.
• The Department of BBA and M.A (HRM) has conducted a Guest lecture on “Talent Acquisition “on 31.7.2019. The Guest speaker was Ms. Smrithi Ganesh, Assistant Professor from MOP Vaishnav College for Women.
• The Department of BBA and M.A (HRM) has conducted a Guest lecture on 03.08.19. Ms. Aruna Assistant Manager- HR working at Blue Star addressed the students of M.A (HRM) and shared her experience on Recruitment process and Human Resource Operations.
• The Department of BBA and M.A (HRM) has conducted a Guest lecture on “Research Methods for HR“on 05.08.2019. The chief guest was Ms. Ramya Ravi Prakash from D. G. Vaishnav College, B. Com (Hons) Department working as Assistant Professor.
• The Department of M.A. (HRM) has conducted a Guest lecture on the topic “Organisation Development” on 18.8.2019. The Guest speaker was Ms.Varsha Varadharajan , HR Executive in Tata Consultancy Service.
• The Department of M.A. (HRM) has conducted a Guest lecture on the topic “Grievance Redressal” on 16.12.2019. The Guest speaker Ms. Arthi Rani (HR Executive) from Royal Enfield Pvt Ltd addressed the students of M.A.HRM students and shared her valuable experience on Grievance Redressal mechanism and POSH act implementation / awareness programs.
• The Department of M.A. (HRM) has conducted a Guest lecture on the topic “Employee Relations and Industrial Relations” on 3.12.2019. The Guest speaker Ms. Deepa Vardharajan (Head Employee Relations & Industrial Relation) from Foxconn Pvt Ltd addressed the students of M.A.HRM students and shared her valuable experience on Employee Relations and Industrial Relations.
• The Department of M.A. (HRM)  has conducted a Guest lecture on the topic “HR Analytics” on 13.12.2019. The Guest speaker Ms. Pooja Ravikumar (HR Executive) from Royal Enfield Pvt Ltd addressed the students of M.A.HRM students and shared her valuable experience on Digitalization of HR and HR Analytics.
• The Department of M.A. (HRM) has conducted a Guest lecture on the topic “Talent Management” on 5.12.2019. The Guest speaker Ms. Sabthami Ravichandran (HR Manager) from TVS & Sons Pvt Ltd addressed the students of M.A.HRM students and shared her valuable experience on Talent Management.
• The Department of M.A. (HRM) has conducted a Guest lecture on the topic “HR TOOLS AND TECHNIQUES” on 07.12.2019. The Guest speaker Ms. Sri Vidhya (HR executive) from Hewlett Packard Global Soft Pvt Ltd addressed the students of M.A.HRM and shared her valuable experience on latest HR Tools and Techniques.
• The Department of M.A (HRM) has conducted an Orientation Program on “Career Opportunities for Women” on 10.02.2020. Mr. Lakshmi Narayan started the session by sharing his experience on getting a job opportunity and then starting his own venture.
• The Department of M.A (HRM) has conducted an Orientation Program on “Avenues for Women in Indian Army” on 17.02.2020. Major. Shri Ganesh started the session by quoting from Indian mythology the courage and valor demonstrated by women. 
• The Department of MA (HRM) conducted orientation program for the students on 24^th January 2020. The guest speaker Ms. Sujatha Rani faculty from IIKM addressed around 300 students regarding the importance of career for women.
• The Department of Business Administration and MA (HRM) conducted an Intradepartmental Management Fest On 17th of December 2019 between 9.00 AM and 11. 30 AM at KRISSH Auditorium.
• The Department of Business Administration and MA(HRM) of Shri Krishnaswamy College for Women, conducted a Guest Lecture on the topic “Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)” on 07.12.2019. The Guest speaker was Mr. V. Viswanathan from Madras Management Association addressed the students of BBA &M.A.HRM and shared his valuable experience on this emerging concept of NLP- Neuro Linguistic Programming.
• The Department of Business Administration and MA(HRM) conducted a Guest lecture on the topic “Psychometric Analysis” on 30.01.2020. The Guest speakers Mr. K. Sudhir and Mr. Rodrick Prasanth from Bodh Tree addressed the students of BBA &M.A.HRM and shared their valuable experience on this emerging concept.

2018-2019

• On 13^th July 2018 a Guest lecture on “Introduction about HR and quality of HR”,by MS.AARTHI JEYERAJAN,HR in INTELENET SOLUTIONS was conducted.
• On 17^th July 2018, a guest lecture was organised, the speaker of the lecture was MS.VAISHALI SHASHI who is currently working as HR in BIG TAPP TECHNOLOGIES PVT.LTD. The topic was “Effective HR roles in organization and Managing Stress”.
• MRS.ISHWARYA GURUMURTHY, senior HR at DELPHI TVS, gave a lecture about COMMUNICATION SKILLS on 20^th  July 2018.
• On 24^th  July 2018 a Guest lectures on   “Corporate Social Responsibility tendency of a active HR and technique to memorize, by MS.PUNITHA THANGARAJ, Project Manager at Oorani (NGO) was conducted.
• On 31^st July 2018, a guest lecture was organised, the speaker of the lecture was MS.ABHIYA PARVATHI who is currently working as HR in WORLD BANK. The topic was “Intense Knowledge about role of HRs in World Bank”.
• On 1^st August 2018, a guest lecture was organised, the speaker of the lecture was MS.TEJASWINI who is currently working as HR in TCS. The topic was “Organisational Culture, Qualities of good and bad Organization, Reward system” in TCS.
• MRS.KHYATI VENKATARAMAN, former HR at UNIWORLD EDUSOFT PRIVATE LIMITED, gave a lecture about Performance appraisal and Management on 01^st  August 2018.
• On 04^th August 2018 a Guest lecture on   “Recruitment process, channels of recruitment, labour laws, standing orders and basic issues of  trade union”,  by MS. ABINAYA, HR in ALSTOM TRANSPORT INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED was conducted.
• MRS.MONISHA, senior HR at TCS, gave a lecture about “work force planning, learning and development, how they appraise the performance and Latest trend in TCS on 07^th August 2018.
• On 9^th August 2018, a guest lecture was organised, the speaker of the lecture was MS.SHUBASHREE GURUPRASAD, who is currently working as GM-HR at Krishnamacharya Healing and Yoga Foundation. The topic was “Employee Wellness, dimensions of wellness, Various Programmed for Employee Wellness.
• MRS.ROKSHANA BEGUM, HR at CTS, gave a lecture about Rewards and Recognition, Organisational Behaviour, Evidence Decision Making on 13^th  August 2018.
• On 14^th August 2018 a Guest lecture on   “Key points  to groom as HR, learning human behaviour concerned to organization and so on, tendency to strive in a firm”,  by MS.YAMINI TANGARAJAN , HR HEAD  in TCS was conducted.
• MRS.PADMAVATHI SUBRAMANIAN, senior HR HEAD at INFOSYS, gave a lecture about “CLOUD technology, group dynamics, group behaviour, AI, technologies in organization" on 21^st  August 2018.
• On 27^th July 2018, students attended A NATIONAL CONFERENCE on “Industrial Relations Shifting Focus from Labour Reforms to Mindset Reforms”, at LE-ROYAL MERIDIAN.
• FICCI HR SUMMIT - 2018 on 31^st  August 2018 at Rain Tree Hotel, Anna Salai, focused about Digital Transformation of HR, Managing Change during HR digital Transformation, and Enhancing Business Outcomes through HR innovations.
• On 24^th and 25^th  September 2018 the final year students attended A NATIONAL CONFERENCE on “Women Workers in Unorganized Sector: Health and working conditions”.
• On 21^st July, 2018 A WORKSHOP was conducted on “Interpersonal communication, Group Structure,Group Dynamics,Work Stress & Listening skills”by S.MUTHULAKSHMI, HR at Integra Software Services Private Ltd.
• 10^th August, 2018 an INDUSTRIAL VISIT to SAINT GOBAIN- a leading glass manufacturing company at Oragadam.

2017-18

• On 11th August 2017 Department of BBA and MA (HRM) of Shri Krishnaswamy College for Women conducted “Management Fest – 2017” which aimed at identifying the hidden managerial talents in the student. It was an inter-departmental event among 11 departments of the college. The Fest had events like Group Discussion, The Best Manager, Role Play, Mock Interview , Business Quiz, Poster making.
• On 3^rd October 2017 Department has organized a guest lecture on “Emotional Intelligence”. The resource person for the guest lecture was Dr.D.Gomathy, Head of MBA Department, Ethiraj College for Women.
• On 5^th February 2018, Department of BBA and MA (HRM) organized a guest lecture on HR Avenues for students in Corporate World.The resource person for the guest lecture was  Mrs. Maithreyi, HR WIPRO.

2016-17

• On 3^rd February 2017 guest speaker Mr. Stephen from TCS (Talent management and acquisition team) addressed the gathering. The Guest speaker through interactive discussions spoke about the corporate world and its challenges, work life balance and integration.

2015-16

• The Department of M.A. HRM went on an industrial visit to Indian Institute of Logistics Harbour on 04-02-2016 with 61 students and four staff members.

2014-15

• The Department of M.A HRM went on an industrial visit to Indian Institute of Logistics Harbour on 28-08-2014 with 57 students and four staff members.
• The Department of Business Administration and MA (HRM) had organized a field visit for the final year students on 9^th and 10^th of September 2014.  Four staff and 60 students from Department of Business Administration and MA (HRM) visited the Hindustan Coca Cola Beverages Pvt Ltd.
