Admission Procedure

Application forms can be obtained from the college office.

Completed application forms should be submitted in the college office along with attested copy of net results for provisional admission.

Students from boards other than Tamil Nadu State Board must apply for Eligibility Certificate.

The Admission is subject to verification of mark certificates, issued by the Director of Govt. Examinations. If mark certificates are found to be bogus, the admission will be cancelled and criminal action will be taken against the candidate.

Interview cards will be sent to the shortlisted candidates.

Spot admission will be done for meritorious candidates.

The following documents must be submitted in ORIGINAL at the time of the interview.

  • Interview Card
  • +2Mark Sheet (with three attested copies)
  • Transfer Certificate
  • Conduct Certificate from the Head of the institution in which the candidate last studied.
  • Community Certificate issued by the Tahsildar of the District concerned must be compulsorily produced at the time of admission.
  • Medical Fitness certificate with blood group.
  • Selected Candidates should remit the fees in Bank counter.
  • Students who do not pay their fees in the given time will not be assured of the seat.
CHOICE BASED CREDIT SYSTEM

The university has introduced the CBCS (Choice Based Credit System) from the academic year 2008-2009. Under this system, in all UG courses, a candidate must earn a minimum of 140 credits. PG students must earn a minimum of 90 credits.

  • Those who have not studied Tamil as a second language up to Std. XII will have to take Tamil paper comprising two courses which will be at the level of Std VI.
  • Those who have studied Tamil up to Std XII and taken a non Tamil language under Part I shall take Advanced Tamil comprising two courses.
  • Others who do not come under a and b can choose non major electives offered by other departments comprising two courses.

  • Essentials of Language and Communication
  • Essentials of Spoken & Presentation Skills
  • Personality Enrichment
  • Computing skills
  • Foreign Language: German / French

3.Environmental Studies

4.Value Education : Extension Activities can be NSS / RRC / Rotract / YRC / any other service organization in the college.

  • Range(91% - 100%) – 5 Marks
  • Range(76% - 90%) - 4 Marks
  • Range(60% - 75%) – 3 Marks

* Internal Marks are based on test, attendance, Seminars, and assignments

RULES AND REGULATIONS
  • CELL PHONES ARE BANNED IN THE COLLEGE CAMPUS.
  • The college believes in discipline, commitment and hard work.
  • Students must be punctual
  • They must be regular to class. The college insists on 90% attendance
  • Students must involve themselves in academic and co-curricular activities and do projects,present papers, participate in competitions, organize programmes etc.
  • They must avoid using indecent, unparliamentary language.
  • They are encouraged to speak in English in the campus.
  • They must wear modest clothes.
  • Students must keep the campus and classrooms clean.
  • Students are prohibited from indulging in ragging.

If any incident of ragging comes to the notice of the authority, the student concerned will be given a chance to explain and if her explanation is not found satisfactory, she will be expelled from the institution.
