Krishnaswamy Educational Trust was established by Thiru. M.A.Krishnaswamy, A.M.I.S.E., M.I.C.E., (USA), F.I.M.I., a revered educationist par excellence. His brilliant academic record motivated him to work in various capacities initially and finally he has started the college of Engineering Technology in 1960. His passion for education pushed him further to begin a nursery school in 1963 named Children English School at Nungambakkam with 17 children. He has also formed a Trust namely Krishnaswamy Educational Trust. A chain of schools was started in Chennai in Anna Nagar, Villivakkam, etc. After his sad demise in 1988, his elder son Thiru.M.A.K.Balakrisshnan took up the mantle along with his sons. Shri Krishnaswamy College For Women is the embodiment of the vision of our Chairman who has assiduously fostered the growth of educational institutions to serve society’s needs.
The College has grown steadily in terms of student strength as well as in the range of courses of study that are offered. The concomitant expansion of the infrastructure and facilities has ensured that students can pursue their tertiary education in a happy and healthy environment.
The introduction of Shift - II in 2018, has been a milestone in the annals of SKCW. This initiative has been taken to provide opportunities to larger member of students. The various achievements by both the staff and students have taken the College on a path of intellectual ascent. The College is also putting in all efforts to obtain NAAC Certification. SKCW is continuously engaged in several activities to enhance the academic and Co-curricular student participation.
